Grandparents are the family’s strongest foundation, the greatest story tellers and the keepers of tradition. They keep a family close to heart with their special love and care.
To honour them, Adamas World School, on 24th of November ( Friday) celebrated ‘Grandparents Day’ with a lot of pomp and fervour. The event started with the warm welcoming of the grandparents with flowers and hand-made cards. These cards were prepared by the little Adamites of Toddlers to KG to make their beloved grandparents feel special on that day. After the guests were made to be seated comfortably in the auditorium, the auspicious lighting of the lamp ceremony was held to mark the beginning. One of the grandparents along with other esteemed guests and dignitaries went up the stage to light the lamp which was followed by the heartening Principal ‘s welcome address.
The two masters of ceremony from grade 1 were indeed praiseworthy .Their speech, confidence and style of narration is worth mentioning.
The little children from classes 1 and 2 stole away the hearts of the audience with their scintillating performances as they sang and danced to the tunes based on the theme – Grandparents Day.
To make the event more interesting and colourful, a Fancy Dress Competition was also organised wherein children from grades Toddlers to KG participated quite enthusiastically-The theme was Animal Kingdom.
The tiny tots came dressed up from home in beautiful costumes and carried appropriate props based on the given theme. The students of Toddlers came dressed up as Farm Animals, Nursery as Wild Animals and KG as Aquatic Animals. One at a time they graced the stage and expressed interesting and informative ideas about the character they had dressed up as.
The performance of the students left both the judges and the audience awestruck. As stated by the honourable judges it was indeed difficult to decide and select the winners. However, the names of the winners were announced, and the winners were rewarded with a trophy and a certificate. Chocolates were distributed to all participants to keep their spirits high.
The show ended with a heart- warming speech delivered by the respected Vice Principal followed by the vote of thanks proposed by the Junior School Incharge and then the national anthem.
The Grand parents were elated to be a part of such an event. They appreciated the mesmerizing performances of the budding souls, the untiring efforts of the teachers and the unique concept of the school to honour and recognise the contributions of all grandparents. They shared their views and feedback. Refreshments were offered at the end. Indeed the day shall be a memorable one for both the grandparents and the school.
